Costs
What does this actually cost?
No mystery package.
Let's see where the money goes.
Same journey.
Very different service costs.
Before comparing packages, understand what is actually included.
Company / service package
€3,000–€4,000
Our experience / approximate package range
Important: Always check exactly what the contract includes.
WATCH THE “FREE” EXTRAS 😄
Some packages may tell you: “FSP / KP course included for FREE!”
Sounds nice 😄 — but check who actually pays for it.
If you are eligible, an approved FSP or KP preparation course may sometimes be funded through public programs such as a Bildungsgutschein.
FREE COURSE ≠ FREE FSP / KP EXAM.
The preparation course and the official examination are two different things.
Even if your preparation course is publicly funded, you may still have to pay the official FSP or KP examination fee yourself.
So before counting a “free course” as a €€€ company benefit, ask one simple question: “Who is actually paying for it?” 👀

“FREE FSP / KP COURSE?”
ASK WHO ACTUALLY PAYS.
Some private packages for doctors advertise FSP or KP preparation as “free” or “included.”
But here’s the important part 👀
If you are eligible, an approved preparation course may sometimes be funded through public programs such as a Bildungsgutschein from the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter.
That means the private company may not necessarily be paying the course fee itself.
Funding is NOT automatic and depends on your individual eligibility.
PREPARATION COURSE
FSP / KP prep
May sometimes be publicly funded if eligible
OFFICIAL EXAM
FSP / KP exam
Exam fee may still be paid separately
AND ONE MORE THING:
FREE COURSE ≠ FREE EXAM.
An FSP/KP preparation course is NOT the same thing as the official FSP/KP examination.
You may have a funded preparation course and still need to pay your official examination fee separately.
Before counting a “free course” as part of the value of a private package, ask:
- • Who actually pays for the course?
- • Is the company paying?
- • Is it publicly funded?
- • Is it funded through my Bildungsgutschein?
- • Does “included” mean the COURSE only?
- • Is the official EXAM fee included too?
Free is great. We love free. 😂
We just like knowing who actually paid for it.
Before paying for an FSP or KP course...
CHECK FUNDING FIRST. 👀
Depending on your individual eligibility, approved professional training may be funded through programs such as a Bildungsgutschein from the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter.
- 1Find course
- 2Check eligibility
- 3Talk to Agentur für Arbeit / Jobcenter
- 4Apply
- 5Funding may be available if approved
Some eligible doctors may receive funding for approved preparation courses. Check before paying privately.
Someone offers you a €3,000–€4,000 package?
Don't automatically say yes.
Don't automatically say no.
ASK WHAT'S INCLUDED.
Ask for a clear breakdown:
- Company service
- Lawyer
- Documents
- Translations
- Application support
- FSP preparation course
- FSP examination fee
- KP preparation course
- KP examination fee
- Other services
Then ask:
- • Which of these costs are actually paid by the company?
- • Which costs will I still have to pay separately?
- • Which services could I organize myself?
- • Which courses may be publicly funded?
Understand first.
Pay second.
Before you sign anything ⚠️
Don't sign a contract or document if you are not allowed to keep a copy.
Before signing:
- • Read the whole document.
- • Make sure you understand what you are agreeing to.
- • Never sign blank or incomplete papers.
- • Make sure both sides sign the final version where applicable.
- • Ask for your own copy immediately.
- • Keep the signed copy, emails, invoices and payment receipts together.
If someone tells you:
“You can sign it, but you can't have a copy.”
don't sign until you understand why and have received appropriate advice.
A signature can have legal consequences.
Keep a copy of everything you sign.
Need legal advice about a contract? Ask an independent qualified lawyer.
“They told me they paid for my course.”
WHO ACTUALLY FUNDED IT?
- Is the course privately paid?
- Is it publicly funded?
- Is the provider/course eligible for Bildungsgutschein?
- Can I apply directly?
- Is the exam fee separate?
- What exactly is the company charging me for?
Understand first.
